Pure water is produced using reverse osmosis membranes to separate the majority of salts and ions from the feed water and sending the salts and ions to waste or re-circulation.
Mixed bed DI resin is used as a final polish to reduce any remaining salts or ions in the purified water from the RO system. Mixed bed DI resin can also be used on its own to produce pure water where usage is lower.
